Anyone know where I can get spare parts?

So basically I had a Digi 002 Rack for quite a while but then I apparently killed my Firewire chip (or so Digidesign Tech support told me through multiple phone conversations). I bought an MBox to use until I got it fixed, but just haven't gotten it fixed yet since Digi wants $450 to look at it/fix it. Now that 8.0.3 has cut support for the MBox, I find my self in a bit of a conundrum. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement digital card for the Digi 002 Rack?

Doubt if they'll sell you those parts separately, I'm thinking this is a "send it in" situation.

Some searching of the site for Authorized Repair Centers (or ARC) should turn up a list of repair centers. Get a hold of your nearest repair center and see if the part is something you can purchase. I thought the FW board was around 250.00-285.00

Well, I was trying to find somewhere outside of Digidesign, but if I might be able to get the card for 250.00 I'm interested at least.

I dont think your going to find the card outside of Digis repair network. A ARC may be able give you a better cost estimate. I'm just going from memory on the pricing so I'm probably wrong.

Don't have a rack but the $ 250 would be half the cost of one on ebay. If you can solder you could see what's involved in replacing the interface chip which probably cost 5-10 bucks.

I was hoping it would be that simple, but the Digital Card in the 002 Rack is a multi-layer board, which I am a little intimidated by. Plus, that chance that I could even find that chip after 6 years is very slim.
