Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
Say what? I had a 7 minute audio montage ready to bounce (running about 10 plug ins)and I would get the "bounce to disk cannot keep up" error. Had to go out SPDIF to another PC to get a mix.
Why? Thanks much |

Re: Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
what version of PT are you running?
in version 6.1.x, there was a bounce to disk bug where the bounce handler would not keep up, even in sessions that were nowhere near the CPU limit.

Re: Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
What are you bouncing to? If mp3, you can only do fastest. But I don't think thats your problem 'cause you said they did it on another computer and I assume they used the same settings. In 6.1.1 alot of people had a problem with bouncing to disk not working for any apparent reason.

Re: Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
That was a known issue with version 6.1. Try bounce all of your tracks to your audio drive, not your system drive. If your useing another IDE or firewire dirve. This seemed to work for me.

Re: Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
You could also try the free upgrade to 6.4..Some claim the bug was fixed with that release.

Re: Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
Again, thank you for the help guys.
I was bouncing to wav 44k/16bit on my audio drive. USB 2.0 I tried bouncing to the C drive as well. It would bounce the first 4 or 5 seconds and then ERROR I guess I will go up to the latest version. I didn't want to mess with that just yet because I know there will be an issue with plugins. LOL Update them or something. |

Re: Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
I never had any problems with Plug-ins in 6.4 actually, maybe its 'cause I have mostly stock plug-ins

Re: Bounce to disk - cannot keep up?
I got that error frequently trying to bounce large sessions with 6.1.1 on my USB 2.0 drive. I would then bounce the same session on my second internal drive and very rarely get errors. The USB drive was fine for recording and mixing, but when it came to Bounce to Disk, I would get the error (especially larger sessions). The second internal drive performed superior. With the update to 6.4 I have not had any Bounce to Disk errors yet, even bouncing from the USB drive.
