Default output madness

Im using protools 11 and sometimes (usually when a band is tracking) when I change an output on an audio channel on the mix screen, the output won't let me assignment the track back to analog 1/2 out. It let's me change to all other outputs but not the one I need. The only work around is unassigning it, then reassigning it to analogue1/2. Any suggestions from someone else this has happened to would be appreciated.

The only occasion where you can't select an active output is when it has already been selected. Not sure what your issue is, but are you certain the track is not already assigned to that output?

This is a bug. I have this problem. There have been a few threads on it. No fix yet. Just un-assign and reassign.

Thanks for the info. At least I get a bit of comfort knowing I'm not alone :)

Definite bug, happens 2 out of 10 times or so for me, particularly when changing a track to my main "Output" 1-2. Just send to "no output" then assign it where you want, that should work. Of course this will erase any pan settings or automation you already have on the track....annoying. Hopefully fixed soon.

When this happens to us on HD11.3 we go to the track in the Edit window and change the size so we see the plugins on the track and move a plugin from that track up or down a slot and all works again .. Weird ..

I have the same problem in ProTools 11.3 but I only use outputs one and two most of the time. My problem is if I switch a track from input 1 to 2 or above I can't switch it back to input 1 without switching the track to no input first or to a bus then I can go back to 1. Plus I have major graphic glitching in the edit window meters, playback head, and clock all glitch at the same time while not effecting the audio it's just a visual thing. There are other threads on this graphics issue.
We need a PT11 update with fixes, these basic problems are rediculous. My main system is still PT 10 and 10.8.5 but I am trying to get up to date on a new boot drive, everything works as it should except pro tools. I am hoping they do another update to 11 before launching 12.
