Where's the fuse?
When powering up the control 24 yesterday, my wife said she heard a pop in the headphones and the unit went dead.
After checking that there was indeed power to the lead, and flicking the switch on the 24 a couple of times without any resulting activity, I came to the same conclusion - its dead! Sounds like the fuse or power supply has given up the ghost so-to-speak. I removed the rear panel to expose the power supply and looked everywhere for a fuse but without success. I didn't want to disconnect all the power leads so couldn't pull the power supply out far enough for a really good look. Can anyone tell me where exactly I might find the fuse? I do have a little bit of technical savvy but not the testing equipment to back it up. If its not the fuse then I would really like to find a schematic and check out the possiblities of an easy fix. If not I'm going to have to get a tech guy in and that means $$$ - the last resort. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Where's the fuse?
Depending on where you live, the fuse might even be in the AC mains connector. Other places to look are where the mains cord plugs into the unit or very close to it. I highly doubt that Digidesign would have hid the fuse inside the unit. This is all assuming that the line cord doesn't have an open fault.
