You need to use DigiDesign's CoreAudio.
And on you Mac, under System Preferences, in Sound Preference select your MBox as the Output.
Launch iTunes and you'll be set...

Hi,
and thanks for your help. Unfortunately when I switch to the mBox output iTunes stops playing, in other words, even if the play button is pressed it remains still... when I switch back to the internal output iTunes begins to play again, what's happened?

Best Regards,

you changed your sound card . ( did you / do you ) have speakers set up on your m box ? Itunes should play to the M box outs .

But not when pro tools is on .

Hi,
and thanks for your reply. No, I haven't changed my audio card and no external speakers connected. I've tried to use iTunes with the mBox only with Pro Tools off. Are there other reasons for my system not to work?

Best Regards,

while it´s supposed to work, i´ve had problems with core audio manager,
even with the last one, not say with itunes, it won´t crash,
but it may sound or not, with garage it would sound nice when i choose it in
preferences, then i go out, relaunch, and it sounds like bsshhtssshss,
with live, no problems, with reason, (not rewired but standalone i'm talking)
sometimes it works sometimes not. i'm talking core 6.5.2
so with apple aplications i have stayed with internal card,
and with others i use core only if it work smooth.
