Default Brainworx Vertigo VSC-2 and Elysia Alpha

Plug-in Alliance is having another sale this weekend. Two of them I have been waiting on to pop up. The one I am curious about is the Vertigo VSC-2.

I already have the Brainworx Elysia Alpha and do enjoy it quite a bit. I was wondering if the Vertigo VSC-2 do different things better from one another, or if they are somewhat similar?

I guess "do they compliment each other" would be the better question. I'm amateur hobbyist and have to pick and choose or otherwise show at least a bit of restraint.

vertigo to me is a great all around compressor from bass to strings. very versatile but flavored. the mpressor is great for drums and just about anything else and is quite transparent and has a few tricks up it's sleeve with the neg ratios and and gain limit.

they are both great plugin compressors in my opinion (i have them both) but they are two different beasts and worth their weight. but as for comparing them... they are apples and oranges. cheers

jay

p.s. my mistake i thought you asked about the mpressor (which is on sale also)... i can't speak for the alpha. i don't have it nor have i demo'd it

Thanks for responding.

I have the mpressor as well as the alpha. This might just be different enough to be worth it. I was mainly concerned with duplication.

I understand that a DBX 160 is a popular or well known VCA type. I do not have one other than a Native Instrument effort from a few years back. Not that I know of, at least.
