Anyone have any ideas about what was used? Amp, guitar, mic, pre, whatever. I don't even really dig U2 all that much but MAN the guitar is tough as nails in that song.

Any and all comments appreciated!

you will probably need The Edge ....
sory but no Amp, guitar, mic, pre, whatever will help you reach any sound !! that someone else created by his hands - IMO any way ...
but Its a promise !!

While it's true that a lot of the sound is in the way the parts are played, you can get pretty darn close using the same gear. I highly recommend you go to www.u2sound.com for more info than you ever wanted to know about the Edge's gear and setups.
