Default Off or on? Admin, please settle this for me?

Hi all,

I know its an age old question, do I leave the C24 on or off, but after just servicing mine I wonder if it is actually better to leave them running without harm.

Is the constant on/off more damaging to the 24 and my macs than on 24/7?? Admin, can you help settle this one please!!

Thankyou,
Regds AJ

From experience with various other equipment and now with my C/24 I'd say leave it on. Ive had gear just mysteriously pack up and after numerous furious hats with dealers decided that Im leaving all my gear on (just shutting it down if im not working on it for more than 2 days)

The Editorial for last months (I think) Sound on Sound also touched on it, and I have to say that I agree, by switching stuff on and off the whole time you run the risk of letting cold gear spike each time you start up.

One thing i have noticed though with my C/24, is that if it was on for a prolonged period of time, one of my faders doesnt always register and just wont move with the automation. weird...
