Plug in success with G4 IBook/Mbox ???
Fellow IBook Pro Tools users:
I'm toying with the idea of purchasing a plug in-package or two (Waves Ren to start) and was curious how successful my peers have been with using an IBook and "spendier" plugs. Currently, my system (G4 933MHz 640 RAM) with an MBox can push a 30 track session with approximately 10-15 "free" plugins (i.e. Bomb Factory limiters, Digi EQs, Digi Verb, etc). I would hate to purchase a plugin package only to find that I could only run one or two simultaneously before running in to the hardware buffer errors so many of us have faced when pushing a session to the limits. Any thoughts from someone with a similar rig using additional plugins? Chris |

Re: Plug in success with G4 IBook/Mbox ???
I don't notice a huge difference between a Waves plugin and a comparable Digirack plugin in CPU usage. Most important is to be sparing in your use of reverb plugins, use sends to a single reverb.
