Question Hey, PT LE and UAD-2?

So i'm upgrading to a Mac Pro and a 003 soon and i am really interested in the UAD plugs. I haven't heard good things about them and Tools.

Would i have to manually compensate for each plug like i do normally with latency introducing plugs?

Because theres so much latency on most of there plugins does this mean i wouldn't be able to use them an aux tracks?

Is there any other work arounds i would need to no?

Thanks guys

UAD-2 doesn't yet have the RTAS versions of its plugins working so no-one will know regarding the UAD-2 and PT.

The older UAD-1 used a specific delay compensation plugin to 'line things up' but the UAD-1 doesn't work with the current Mac Pro.

So until UA announce the PT/RTAS versions of their plugins, I would hold fire unless you are taking advantage of their discounted upgrades.

That will never happen.

They have in the past via the fxpansion wrapper. I would guess this is how it will be handled in the future.

Which is not support.
Using the fxpansion wrapper tweaks the workflow in ways that makes using the UAD stuff not as much fun.

Some companies will never support RTAS, at least we have people like Mellowmuse who are working to give RTAS versions of their product.
We pretty much saw the real picture when UA discontinued their TDM plugs.

Well, the PCI version of the UAD-1 doesn't work with new Mac Pros, but the PCI-e version should.
