Default unusable audio drive

when i booted up my system this morning, protools said that my firewire drive (dedicated for audio) was unusable for audio - it tried to allocate the audio files to my system drive - nothing has changed since i used this session on friday (or has it?) - i've backed up the data and formatted the hard drive, copied the data back, and still have the same problems - i've tried other sessions and the same thing is happening - any suggestions? thank you so much

What does it say about your drive in the workspace? If it says anything but R in the A column, this could be your problem. Did you Format the drive with hfs ext. Not journaled? I'm assuming it is a 7200 oxford 911 bridge set drive. If not there's your problem.

I just got the same error. It says you must choose and audio record volume. I also use this volume for logic pro 7. But nothing has changed, I used ithe drive for PT 2 weeks ago. It is an internal 120 gig drive dedicated to audio with a 8 mb buffer.
any ideas?

Actually it said
"session must be on an audio record volume"
this happens when I create a new session on that drive.

Sorry about the triple reply, I figured it out. you have to open up the workspace in protools and make sure all of the drives are set to R in the A column and not P or A.
best
