Wow. I am so outdated with this Apogee Symphony that has thunderbolt and digilink, having to reboot the device to switch between the two

It is extremely unlikely any manufacturer would deliver ability to simultaneously/dividable multiple host a Thunderbolt interface.

For simpler exclusive access between two hosts on a bus, maybe for failover redundancy, you could try it. That would likely take some easier engineering but it is also not documented anywhere AFAIK so expect it will not work either.
Thanks

I want:

- My Mac Protools HDX on digilink
- The same Mac on thunderbolt
- My PC on thunderbolt.

I don't need to use both thunderbolt devices at the same time, it's ok if I can switch the driver.

But connecting my PC on Dante DVS seems to be a good choice.

I have my MTRX Studio connected to both my laptop (TB3) and MacPro (DigiLink). They are also both on the same Dante Network. I can easily route to/from both computers via DadMan.

^^ exactly. Now this thread resurfaced I deleted my goofy previous post, I don't even want folks trying that. There are some Thunderbolt driver/bus curiosities there I do want to look at for my own geek interest.

Piling on the geek for multi computer audio distribution:

TB3 - one host workstation, but not necessarily your primary (HDX for example) system.
DigiLink - multiple workstations containing HDN or HDX cards.
Dante - PCIe or virtual DVS or DVS Pro within each workstation
MADI - RME PCIe (for example) attached workstations terminated into MTRX (1 or 2)
DADLink - bridging multiple dedicated MTRX 1 or 2 systems over fiber SFPs

etc.
