Default Applying Instrument Tracks to Reg. Audio Tracks

Hi, this might be a weird question but, one of my plugins (Effectrix amoung others) can only be accessed when I'm on an instrument track yet, the plugin really isn't a virutal instrument, it's more like an effect that should be able to be applied to audio that I record.

Is there any way to re classify the plugin to show up under the inserts on an Audio track?

Also, is there anyway to make it so that the effect only lasts for a certain amount of time before stopping (and maybe coming back in later)?

Thanks! Here's some general info of what I'm using

Pro Tools LE 8
Mac OSX 10.5
MBox Mini

Thanks in advance.

Are you it's just not a stereo plugin, my Korg plugs are like this, no mono.

What about instantiating it on an Auxiliary track? Then you could buss the audio track output and automate the plug-in bypass so that the effect is only applied where required.

Effectrix works fine on an Audio track. That's what it's designed for. I use it all the time to 'Glitch' things on Audio tracks.

I'm pretty sure it works as a stereo insert only so make sure you're not trying to insert it on a Mono track. That would explain why it's not showing up in your list of plugs.

Hmmm.... did you read my post above?

It DOES work on an audio track. It's NOT an instrument plugin.

If it's not working, something is set wrong.

No, I got it to work, just using Phil's technique. I'll go ahead and try it on a stereo track though just to make sure all is well.

EDIT: It works. thanks!
