Master Module Won't Boot
I have a support ticket in, but haven't heard from anybody yet. I figured I'd try this as well...
My Master Module is not booting. After pressing the power button (or connecting power) the cooling fan comes on and stays on, and nothing appears on the touchscreen. All other modules have the purple "Waiting for Network" lights. This has happened a few times before, but I've always been able to get back up and running eventually. Several weeks ago, it began a behavior where, if I had to shut down and restart for some reason, it would not boot immediately after shutting down. However, after some time with the power off (sometimes an hour; often overnight), it would boot just fine. This time, I can't get it to boot at all, even after an overnight rest. I have tried to do a system restore, but holding F2 (PC Keyboard, not Mac) on power-up does nothing. Ctrl+Alt+Del also does nothing. I'm out of ideas.

Re: Master Module Won't Boot
After disconnecting the Master Module completely (and removing it from the console frame) for 20 minutes, I reconnected it, powered it up, and it booted.
I don't know if this procedure will continue to work, but I will now attempt a system restore in hopes that it will fix my issues.

Re: Master Module Won't Boot
Other than a hardware fault with the motherboard, it could be a bad power connection (taking it out of the chassis may have helped)
Did you get a support ticket number ? |

Re: Master Module Won't Boot
Case# 03394817
I wondered about a bad power connection. I tried using a different lead from the power supply to the module, but nothing changed. The other modules plugged into that power supply (Transport and lower part of the Master) seem to be operating properly. Also, would the fan still come on if the power connection was faulty? After the one time I got it to boot last night, I copied my user preferences and soft key appset to a flash drive. I haven't been able to get it to boot since. I left it out of the chassis overnight - still nothing.
