Recorded audio placed 40ms too early
PT10 + Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (USB) loopthru test, PT places tracks 40ms early! Has anyone found a way of fixing negative latency issues?
Guess this must be latency overcompensation or else I have accidently invented a time machine! Can get the over compensation down to only 300 samples early by setting minimum buffer and no compensation but cant achieve zero (unfortunately running min buffer is no longer glitch free). How can I modify PTs default assumption about USB latency to achieve sub negative (ie. zero) latency on recorded tracks? Do we expect PT to be able to run with popular 3rd party ASIO/USB interfaces? Any tweak advice or known work around for this would be very much appreciated. I have had enough of manually nudging all recordings into synch! Re: Recorded audio placed 40ms too early
I had the same problem.
I solved it in the mix window. Make sure the delay compensation is showing at the bottom of each track. There's a box in there where you can enter a value. Positive or negative. I just tried different values until the audio lined up. |

Re: Recorded audio placed 40ms too early
This is(unfortunately) a "less than supported" computer. Pentium single core(not good), 4GB of RAM(the minimum), integrated graphics(not so good) and you do not have an approved(7200 rpm) recording drive. What plugins are in place in your session(especially on the master track). What buffer are you running at, and is Delay Compensation on or off during recording? Try disabling wifi when running PT.
