Default iMac For PT9?

I'm a PC guy, but I'm considering picking up a Mac so I can use Eucon with PT9.

I will probably not be using more than 24 tracks, with around 6 virtual instruments and a small number of other plugins.

Would a 27-inch iMac with a 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 and 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 4x2GB be sufficient for this? I would be using an external Firewire drive for my session files. (BTW: I know that 32-bit applications can only use 4GB of RAM, but I like to plan for the future.)

Also, my understanding is that, with the appropriate Apple cable, that I could connect any brand of second monitor, that it doesn't have to be an Apple monitor. If this is correct, can the iMac's resolution be lowered to match that of the second monitor?

Thanx...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

I have the Late 09 Imac I5 and can handle that. I don't about the monitors. I was just looking into this. I did read about some mouse problems with a second monitor.

Default Re: iMac For PT9?

With what you've mentioned, the iMac will do 5 times that with no issue.
