Mixing Converters Good/Bad/Indifferent?
Greeting,
We're running an HD2 system on a G4. We have a Digi 192I/O as our interface. From the start we thought we'd add a Rosetta 800 for the extra i/o we need since they have HD cards for it and we can jumper it right into our 192. We don't mix in the box (if the budget allows). We buss out through our mixer. I didn't think of it until I started reading some other forums and have wondered if this is a good idea. What is the concensus with having two different sets of converters. That would be 8 in and 16 out on the 192, and 8i/o on the Rosetta. Now I'm wondering about just adding another 192 and keep it all the same converters. The extra connectivity on the 192 is a benefit to our studio, so I'd forego the Rosetta if it's a real problem. Thanks, Jason |

Re: Mixing Converters Good/Bad/Indifferent?
as long as you don't split a phase coherent stereo pair or 5.1 stream through two different converters I don't see why there should be a problem.
