Thx

The operative word or phrase is, "fairly new to Pro Tools". You probably will have a lot of these.. I know I did at the start. Have an HD session, but am guessing this may be a firmware issue..maybe, but not sure. There are probably a few more variables with you system you will have to get familiar with. G

Thanks for the help, fellas...I think it might actually be a plug in on a certain session I was trying to open...I can open other PT sessions and they are running fine; no crashes and I get audio...it seems to be narrowed down to this particular session...I think the plug in question is Xpand!

Thanks everyone, sounds like good news. I did the update.... no issues. It still scares the crap out of me doing even basic updates if they are not "officially supported". Thanks for the feedback!

That's why cloning your system drive before installing an OS update is so useful.

Yes, The update I installed is a special update for this Sandy Bridge quad MacBook Pro. I could go back to my 10.6.6 clone, but 10.6.7 fixes other things on this computer.

-6085 = something is interfering/clogging the FW port streams.

Did repair permissions help?

Why risk it? You're just adding one extra factor into the already unstable mix and will make it even harder for digi and users on here to properly troubleshoot you.

Has anybody had any trouble installing the update? I keep getting an error message saying this image file cannot be mounted. I re-downloaded the dmg file and tried to open it again and I still get the same error message.
