Default Win98 OS cras

How do I re-load Win98 without having to re-purchase my D-verb and other effects? I've had the 001 for several years, the cumputer looks like it's going to crash and I may have to reload Win98. Can I do it without loosing all my ProTools stuff?

not unless you've partitioned your hard drives, and even then, you'll need to re-enter some registration details.

the other option is to delete your windows directory, then run setup again.

you'd be better off losing 98 and upgrading to XP. you'll be amazed at the stability for one..

You should either have a floppy disk or an authorization code for D-Verb (and other Plug-Ins). For floppy disk protected plugs, simply run the deauthorizer from the floppy before reinstalling the OS (this will move the authorization key back to the floppy). After installing the OS, Pro Tools, and Plug-Ins, use the floppy disk(s) to authorize the system again.

If your Plug-Ins have Authorization Codes, simply install the the OS, Pro Tools, and Plug-Ins, then launch Pro Tools and type in the codes.

Please let us know if you need further assistance...
