FILM MUSIC: THE STATE OF THE ART - A Town Hall Meeting for Composers and
Songwriters for Film & TV

Hosted by Mark Northam, Film Music Network founder

We're welcoming all FMN members and anyone who is interested in or is
working in music for film and television for this FREE event to explore the
current state of the business, art and craft. Our special guest is composer
and Film Music Network founder Mark Northam. In addition to being a
classically trained jazz pianist and film/TV composer, Mark co-founded the
Film Music Network, Film Music Institute, and publishes Film Music Magazine.
Among the topics Mark will discuss will be:

* Breaking into the business - why it's a lot more difficult these days
and how people are succeeding.

* The current film scoring scene in LA and how it affects composers in
other cities.
* How to get work if you're not in LA - the current state of working "by
internet" and what strategies have been successful for composers.

* How to maximize your royalty income - Mark is a candidate for ASCAP's
Board of Directors and is very active writing and studying how composers and
songwriters can maximize their royalty income. Mark will also discuss his
new performing rights site, to launch later this year, PerformingRights.com.
* The art and craft of film scoring - where technology is going, what
types of composers are getting work now, and more.

Don't miss this special event next month - join the community as we come
together to discuss the state of the art of the industry and where we're
going from here.

Sponsored by Film Music Media Group, The Film Music Network presents Film
