Default I don\'t want reverse video on selected area...

Hi,
This is eluding me. Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it doesn't.

I'm working on a little bit of MIDI editing and I want it to play in a loop while I do some adjustments. However, most times when I try to select an area to loop on, by going up to the Bars:Beats and dragging the blue arrows, the whole track area becomes reverse video and basically unreadable.

Sometimes it doesn't though. Sometimes just the upper rules change color with is readable. (And what I want!) Maybe I didn't do this with the blue arrows. I might have done this some other way and just can't remember.

What am I doing differently?

Thanks,
Mark

if i understand you correctly, there are two ways to do this - disable the linked selections button and make the selction from the main ruler, the one with the blue arrows in it, or leave linked selections enabled and select the area from any of the coloured rulers you might have displayed (markers, for example)

mattm,
Thanks. Under Operations the 'Link Edit and Timeline Selections' was checked. Unchecked it an now it's doing what I want.

Thanks,
Mark
