Default Too many items in folder?

Hi
Im running MLCD 2.2 on a G4 with OS9.04. I have 768 items in one folder and wish to commence a new Masterlist but I get this dialogue when I try to import a file"Too many items in folder some will not be displayed"

Digi support tell me Im well within the OS and program limit so any ideas people?

Thanks

-32,767 files theoretical maximum in a folder, but Open and Save dialogs can choke on fewer than 800 files in a folder, and large numbers of files can cause severe Finder performance problems.

-I would assume the same limitations with the Import dialogue as well. Therefore, split the files among a couple of folders and try again.

Dear Brent

Thank you for your response.

This problem came to light as one of my glyphs carrying the sound files got a corrupted directory. I thought I was a clever bunny as all files were backed up but in many different folders. When I tried to reconstitute my masterlist I was asked for 768 files twice! I got through this process and went to save and the computer crashed. After consultation with digi support in the uk we decided to try to use one folder, the thoery being that if anything goes wrong again ML will ask for the first item then automatically locate the rest but as you can see from my first post - that didnt work. Im going to try 2 folders. thanks once again

David
