Default fades

I'm probably just a common idiot, but I can't figure out how to delete a fade in my PT 12.7.1. I enable the Smart Tool then highlight the fade area and scroll down the Edit column to "Fade" but there is no option to delete. It was so easy in older versions of PT. Alas

With the fade area highlighted, just hit the Delete key. Keep in mind that its also easy to adjust an existing fade with the smart tool. It allows you to change the shape, lengthen or shorten, etc(might be worth watching some youtube tutorials on using fades in pro tools)

I actually tried that but both the fade and the track disappears.

You have to only highlight the fade, nothing else. Click inside the fade.
