Default Using 2 different midi keyboards (not at the same time)

Hi there,

I use Pro Tools with a large midi keyboard. In order to be portable, I'd like to buy a small midi keyboard, so I can use Pro Tools anywhere.

Is that possible? Anything I need to look out for?

Thanks in advance!

Hi. Welcome.
That should be no problem at all.
I don't even think there's a limit to the number of midi devices you can use at the same time. Just make shure they are enabled in 'midi input devices' in the setup menu, but they should be enabled automatically.

Make shure you are familar with the 'Instrument' view in the mixer window, it doesn't show as default. It shows up on instrument tracks and lets you control which midi input device contols which virtual instrument or midi playback device. Just select it where you select what the window shows; inserts, sends I/O and so on.
