Critical Live Recording Feature Request

It would be awesome if there was a "record lock" mode for live recording. Just last night, it happened to me. I accidentally bumped the space bar during a live recording. Luckily I only missed a few bars, and the recording is over multiple nights.

Before suggesting putting my cursor in the comments box (while that is a great idea), it is sometimes necessary to create markers on the fly, expecially for 2 1/2 hour recordings.

When in lock mode, I am thinking only a certain key combination could stop recording. Otherwise, it keeps moving forward no matter what.

It would have to be a very intentional "turn on" as well. I can see the support calls pouring in "my rig wont stop recording!!!!"

Maybe a setting in prefs for "are you sure"?

I've requested this a long time ago. I called it a "saef stop" feature, a user selectable preference that once activated would pop up a confirmation dialog, or else one would have to press stop for 3 seconds or so.

So far no luck.

Workaround would be disconnecting USB keyboard but then again, there are transport buttons in control surfaces as well.

Just don't do any mistakes for now as stop works in an instant

believe me, i take every precaution to make the recording happen smoothly. as much live stuff as i do, it was bound to happen.

unplugging the keyboard will also disable being able to create and name markers on the fly.

You can Auto-Name Markers when Playing or Recording, see the Preferences. It'll save a step.
