Default Pro Tools Doesn't Launch After security update

Hi,

I've seen similar posts on this forum, but it is unclear if:
a. a resolution has been found; if so, what is it?
b. if a resolution is being worked on.

I have a Macbook Pro Intel w/ OS 10.4.11 and Pro Tools LE 7.1.1. I took the Security Update "Security Update 2008-008 (Intel)" (1.0)

From there on out I got the bouncy Pro Tools icon and silence. I dug around in the log files and found the logs indicating the crash. I registered for this forum and ran the prebind script. I used the disk utility to Repair Permissions on my Internal Hard drive. Note that I have Pro Tools installed there, but have all of my sessions on an external drive connected via FireWire. I didn't run Repair Perms on the external drive as it wasn't an option and wouldn't have anyway - a bit paranoid.

Needless to say, my life depends on ProTools. I have a songwriting gig with a deadline and need to get this fixed. I also need to provide my client with a reasonable timeline for a delay on my deliverables until this is fixed. Do you folks have an ETA for a fix?

ETA for a fix is probably a week at the earliest.

If you absolutely need to get going, best to do an archive and reinstall of the OS and do NOT install the security update, then reinstall Pro Tools.

Okay. Thank you for the ETA. Please advise when the patch is released. (If there is a way to subscribe to a patch list please let me know how, and I will gladly do so.)

I see a patch for this was released for 7.3.1. Does Digidesign plan to implement a fix for 7.1.1?
