Click track too loud/ how to modify this?
SOLVED! Discovered there were other click tracks lurking..... Thank you for your help!
Running Mac OS 10.13.6 High Sierra/ Protools 12 Hello Avid people! After creating a click track, and opening up the given click plugin interface and moving the sliders down I still cannot get this click any quieter. Changing the volume output in system preferences: also no effect on click volume to music ratio. Setting volume on track also results in no change to volume level of click. Suggestions? Much appreciated in advance! Lisa Last edited by soundartsonline; 04-21-2022 at 04:29 PM. |

Re: Click track too loud/ how to modify this?
Describe the entire scenario(tracks, routing, etc). What you said you tried should have worked. Also, make the click track inactive to make sure that you are not hearing some other track(hidden or otherwise).

Re: Click track too loud/ how to modify this?
Can you make this happen in a trivial session?
Track solo can be your friend for quick troubleshooting, solo the click track and then adjust it's fader, what happens? (that helps check for hidden/unnoticed other click tracks etc.) When you move the Click track fader in the Mix window, do you see the Volume automation level move in the track automation in the Edit window? Looking there for unintended Volume automation of the Click track... which could defeat the fader moves. A common cause of "fader not working" problems. Is this the default click track i.e. Track>Click Track? Or is this a MIDI or Instrument track you set up for yourself? Either way it's using the Click II plugin right? What I suspect Dave is fishing for especially is to describe the output of the click track, which physical I/O busses is that going to? Is there a send from the click track? Especially pay attention to any sends here. Not uncommon for "fader not adjusting levels" problems to be caused by *pre-fader* send from a track. And sometimes folks hide sends in mix view etc. and you forget they are there... and sometimes click tracks get hidden... maybe you have another one hidden.. especially if somebody else has touched the session. |

Re: Click track too loud/ how to modify this?/ SOLVED
Thank you! Turns out you were right. I actually had 2 other click tracks. Found them lurking on the Tracks list. Deleted them and that solved the issue.

Re: Click track too loud/ how to modify this?
Great you got it fixed. Oh well only a mundane duplicate track. Creative sends/bussing would have been much more creative
