Make my sustain pedal a kick pedal
I recently posted this in the MIDI forum but maybe some of you guys maybe able to help...
Just wondering if anyone knows how to alter the incoming midi signals transmitted from a controller keyboard sustain pedal. I want to send note on/off messages to a note value so I can play my sustain pedal as a kick drum using pro tools. I used to do this in Logic quite easily using a transform function - really helpful for programming beats. ta, beef |

Re: Make my sustain pedal a kick pedal
Perhaps a 3rd party utility? MIDIPipe
I've tested this as an alternative to Opcode OMS and Logic Environments with pretty good results. It's freeware with a suggested donation of $5 - $30. Sky

Re: Make my sustain pedal a kick pedal
you're not concerned that every beat would be at the same velocity?

Re: Make my sustain pedal a kick pedal
nah i'm not concerned about the velocity aspect - i just want to get the kicks in the groove for starters and manually adjust the velocity at a later time...
also...thanks for the advice Sky - i'll check that out for sure! beef |
