OSX 10.3.7 sees audiomedia III, PT 6.2.2 doesn't

I changed my powermac 400 mhz G4 for a powermac 800 mhz G4 Quicksilver

System preferences/sound: sees my digidesign HWlll
As soon as i want to launch protools 6.2.2 i get the message
that it cannot find thge hardware.

Does anyone knows what the problem is?

are you sure this machine never had any higher version
of PTLE on it? (like 6.4 or 6.7)

I have only had this problem when i "tried" the 6.4 upgrade
just to see what happens. I had to either:

1) go through all system/library and user/library files and
trash everything digi releated.
(if you still have your installer log then you can use this as a guide)

2) do a complete clean install of your OS 10.3.0 and upgrade
to the 10.3.7 version, then install PTLE 6.2.2.
(by the way there is a 6.2.3 upgrade free w/ auth code and multiclient
core audio works too)

ive a similar setup as you, amiii, ptle 6.2.2 cd
but i have successfully installed into an 8600 (xpostfacto) and a mdd 125G4 dp
