Problems loading and starting

Hi I'm a new user having used Logic for some years. Hope someone can help.



When I loaded the trial PT wouldn't start and shut down while loading plugins. After much googling I removed all the TR5 plugins (I didn't even know I had them) a parked them in "Plugins (unused) and it finally loaded.


However once I'd got past this obstacle and started some tuition videos to give it a go, I found that as soon as I loaded any plugin at all - PT shut down again immediatley. I confess this was last week and I've kind of given it up as a bad job! I'm sorry as I'm going to lose my 30 day trial but actually I'm really busy right now.


However I thought I'd better ask before I give up - is this a known problem and is there a magic bullet to sort this out? Seems crazy that this is industry standard software and I can't even get it to run. So far as I'm aware my iMAC should handle it no problem.

We need more info and what interface etc. You don’t even say if it is win or mac.

Presumably 2021.12? Basic troubleshooting steps are in the link Chris gave. And since you already have a mess with plugins you should be trying moving *every* .aaxplugin file to the unused folder, and trash prefs. Pro Tools will automagically restore the default plugins when it starts. Still problems, test with built-in output (or whatever it is called) as the playback engine, test from a newly created admin account, test with your g-drive and external monitor and everything else not needed disconnected including the RME, and starting with a new empty session on just the internal fast SSD (which hopefully you are using anyhow for sessions).
