Bus Latency
I have searched and would have figured this has been covered countless times, but haven't found any answers. In protools when I send an audio track to a bus I get no latency between the track and bus, but when I send that bus to another bus I then experience latency. Anyway around this or something obvious that I'm missing?

Re: Bus Latency
Hi!
What is your intention to do that? Do you have a plugin inserted? Some may cause latency.

Re: Bus Latency
hey, no plugins inserted. Even when every channel is dry it still happens. Say I want to send a snare track to its individual parallel compression bus while keeping the dry snare on its own separate track. From there I also want to send the parallel compressed track to a drum bus including a sum of all the drums. Obviously this setup will include plugins but for troubleshooting sake I've done it without plugins to see what was causing latency.

Re: Bus Latency
this here may help you. Scroll down to the information of the "WetDry + Mono->Stereo (RTAS)" plugin and follow the instructions. Use it on your snaretrack for your paralell comprsession (as long as you use the same compressor with different settings as a multi-mono plugin unlinked, it works)...
...btw the other plugs are nice session helpers too...

Re: Bus Latency
Thanks but I do have the Massey plugs already. I'm more wondering why this latency exists when busses should not be having this latency without plugins inserted.

Re: Bus Latency
Have you tried changing your buffer settings to see how that affects the latency? I have noticed if I have any clocking issues, that changing the buffer setting to and back again clears it up. It might help. You should not have any latency using buses with no inserts. It is a glitch!
