Just for the record, the 48KHz Fs was not selected for anti-piracy reasons, but because it has an integer relationship with video frames. Consumer DAT machines were forced to only record in 48KHz by the RIAA to avoid "digital copies" of CD's. Then they invented SCMS.

No one said that 48kHz was selected for anti- piracy reasons. Please re-read what I wrote.

I agree that 48kHz was selected based on ease of use with video etc.

44.1kHz WAS selected as a consumer format because of its poor SRC to 48kHz (and vice versa).

I'm sorry. Credit is due where credit is due, and I misunderstood you.

Tiago,

Hey, no problem! I didn't mean to sound harsh, and I'm always open to learning more stuff, and even that what I previously thought was right might be wrong. I love this forum, and I have learned most of what I know about digital audio right here.

We're all trying to learn more theory, and the ins and outs of the Pro Tools system. Where else can you debate the mix bus, bounce to disk, and the 'best' approach for doing what we do?

Thanks for the response, but of course it wasn't necessary.
