Default Master Meter Module and PEC / DIR

Is anyone having joy/issues with the PEC/DIR master display combination? We have it working but only under specific circumstances.

It may be worth mentioning we have tried 'Enable Off-Disk only(PEC) Meters for Post Module Assignments' both on and off - (restarting PT in between). Also, we're 2020.11.1 on the s6 and PT 2020.12

We operate with playback machines and a split recorder. The meters seem to dance (not matching) when using DIR as an output from our playback machine and PEC as our recorder stem. The only way we can get around this is by creating an additional 'bus' aux on the recorder that always picks up input from our playback rigs.

Secondly, the meters don't update when in destructive punch record - is this correct? You have to hit 'stop' for the audio to punch and therefore the audio/meters to update.

Greetings,

A few items off top of my head. You should be using the same meter mode / preset in Pro Tools for all machines - sources and recorder. If you are using Linear (Extended) on the Sources also use that on the recorder.

Also - do you have Pre-Fader meters enabled?

Hi Jeff! Thanks for replying.

Can confirm all the above are as advised. We do have pre fader metering on by default but have the same issue with it off.

Understood. So for the DIR meters you are assigning from the source WS sessions, you are are targeting your multichannel AUX submaster tracks, yes?

Thanks. Let me chat with engineering as I am not seeing that behavior here on my system. Feel free to PM me with any additional details.
