Default STILL HAVE EXPLOSIONS!!!

Even with the waveshell fix.. What in gods name is going on... It happens at least 8 times an hour. With or without waves plug ins.

Today, a client was wearing headphones and got blasted.... SO NOT OKAY.. we need to get this resolved. Digi needs to be constantly reminded that this is their NUMBER ONE problem...

Don't accept this as just a "feature" of pro tools..

Who's going to replace my monitors, or my eardrums when they get busted by this bug????:?

Make sure you replaced the old Waveshell with version 2.9.2b or later. Otherwise, the "fix" is not included.

It took me about three times before I successfully downloaded and replaced the Waveshell. The first file I downloaded was corrupt, and the second file wouldn't install.

Incidentally, the downloadable fix on the Waves website was unusable. I had to call Waves and have them e-mail me the new Waveshell.

Good luck.

I did replace the old Waveshell with the "fix"
(Release Waves ShellRTAS 2.9.2b2)

It didn't fix the problem...

I suggest you call Waves Tech Support and have them e-mail you the file.

I tried to download it off their website twice. First the file was corrupt, then it wouldn't replace my old Waveshell.

Get them to send you a copy and make sure it REPLACES the old Waveshell in your Waves folder. The exploding sound should go away.

Remember...2.9.2b.

Thanks for the ideas, but I have sucessfully instaled 2.9.2b ... and I still get the strange sound.. which sounds like the whole track was put through a vocoder.. maybe a little like a techno break.. it is usually several times louder than the level I am monitoring at... it is outrageous through headphones..

are you saying that the problem was resolved for you with the fix??

luke... I dunno.. I'm not sure its a problem with waves at all.. Do you have 3.0? If so, do you ever get the SES (strange Exploding sound)??

lets hope not.. its a MAJOR vibe killer.. turn the lights down, light some insense, get the lava lamps cooking, and WHAM... A SOUND THAT MAKES YOUR HEART STOP.

someones gonna get hurt.

best of luck

Eric
