Default Upgrading software

I am helping a friend. He was given PT LE 6.4 (MBox) with the upgrade to 6.9. He just bought a new mac laptop with Snow Leopard. I know PT does not support SN *yet*, but what is the best way to get his software up to 8.0? I'm thinking there is an easier solution than to go through all the upgrades from 6.9 to 8.0.

Any ideas? Thanks, group, for your help.

Ben

Pro Tools 8.0.1 was the last release to support the original Mbox. It has been dropped along with the PPC platform since Snow Leopard.

Digidesign are no longer supporting the Original Mbox so you're friend will never have a qualified setup with Snow Leopard. In fact i'm sure sombody posted that Pro Tools doesn't even see the original Mbox in the snow leopard pre release.

Since he was "given" the Mbox. He might seriously consider upgrading to an Mbox2 or other interface that will be supported beyond 8.0.1. Have him check with Digidesign customer support about what his upgrade options are.
