Default Carbon + SD3 + MIDI Performance

Just wondering if anyone has tried this on the Carbon System and if the DSP was available/ worked for this application.

I am keen to see if the Carbon would significantly lower the latency of SD3 performances when hooking up a Roland TD30 (or comparable brain). Currently I am recording the MIDI performance with the drummer listening to the Roland sounds but triggering the SD3 sample libraries 'after the fact'.
This is by no means awful but it would definitely be better if the drummer was listening to the final kit.

Has anyone used this sort of setup and are there any issues or words of advice about this?

Currently I am using an OMNI with HD NATIVE card and a Mac MINI M2Pro

Even with the buffer sizes changed it isn't great for latency

HDX DSP processing is not going to help MIDI and sample based VI latency.

Absolutely not.

SD3 has huge, huge samples - Carbon cannot load any samples of any kind into DSP.

On top of that, the VI latency from computer to Carbon is not particularly low.

As mentioned, it won't help with listening to the SD3 samples, but it would still be an improvement over your current system, in that the DSP would help you achieve low latency of the audio signal from the Roland (along with recording the midi). You would then use the midi to trigger the samples like you are doing now.
