TDM recording level
Hi,
I think I noticed a difference in sound when recording at different levels. How much "yellow" do you guys allow? On a vocal, for instance, just a tiny bit on the peaks (I think this sounds better), or some more than that? Thanks |

Re: TDM recording level
What does the VU meter on your buss send or mic-pre/compressor say?
I input at 0dB VU. I think it sounds better. Mike |

Re: TDM recording level
When I record at 24 bit I always allow 6 to 10 dB of headroom . Its not a vU matter because that depends on how you calibrated your interfaces. My system is calibrated at 0 vU = +4 dBU = -20 dBFS.
Everything sounds great ! |
