Default Recording electric guitar

Hi there,
I have a silly question about how to make the right connections to record an electric guitar directly (without mics in front of an amp). I have been using a DI box (a SAMSON as I recall) drawing phantom power from my 002r and connecting to the line input of my 002r. Is this the best way to do it? Can´t I simply plug the guitar directly to the 002r?
Thank you for your patience,
Luis

Yes, the 002r has direct inputs for recording instruments. Plug the guitar cable into the back 1/4" input for whichever channel (1-4) you want to use. Then select 'instrument' with the switch on the front panel. That's it!
