I can't install pro tools LE software: when i'm installing it appears the "windows logon test" window, i click on "continue", the computer stops and i have to reboot...
I discovered that 915P chipset is not tested...is this that make this troubles? What can i do? Please help me!!! Thanks! EDOARDO

Edoardo -

Where in the installation process are you seeing this 'windows logon test' window? What does the window say, exactly?

If you could carefully outline what you're doing during installation when this occurs, it would help immensely.

Hi!
I want to istall the LE 6.1 software from the cd rom, i haven't istalled the Service Pack 2 because i know that it requires 6.4 or highter..
When i start the setup from cd it works normally until appears a window that says:
"The pro tolls installer is now loading Digidesig hardware drivers. This procedure may take several minutes to complete and may cause your computer screen to flash several times."
(the board is normally connected to the pc)
A few seconds after appears another window, the "Windows Logon testing" that say that drivers haven't passed the testing...
In the user guide"Getting started with Digi 002 Rack" for le 6.1 software at page 10, in "installing pro tools" chapter, says:
"If you get a warning dialog about the driver not passing Window Logon testing, click Continue Anyway"
But when i click on Continue Anyway the computer stops and i have to reboot...

I tried with 6.4, 6.7 and 6.9 software but there is the same problem...
I tried to format, to reinstall windows xp (professional)..
I downloaded all the paches...but...
I have to say that i tried to intall pro tools on another computer( amd 1700, 256mb ram, asus motherboard)and there wasn't any problems!!!In the windows logon testing i clicked CONTINUE and it continued without problems...

Are the chipset the troubles? mah...
Do you want to know some more? Please help me! edoardo

I am using a 915p chipset on a gigabyte board with no problems. But I am also running PTLE 6.9 on windows xp sp2. Did you check out what kind of 1394 fire wire your computer has? Mine is this:Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant. Go to your device manager and find your firewire device and click on properties and it should tell you. Hope this helps.

Edoardo - please let us know if installing Pro Tools 6.9 and SP2 is successful.

You may want to make sure all built-in RAID and SCSI controllers have been disabled from the BIOS prior to installing Pro Tools, as these are known to be incompatible and could possibly be a factor in your installation issues.

I have an Maxtor SATA hard - disk conneced to a Raid controller.
Could be this the cause of the problem?
Using a traditional IDE hard - disk could resove the problem?
Thank you for the help!
Edoardo Pellizzari
P.S.: I havn't installed SP2 and 6,9 yet....

Edoardo,

SATA shouldn't be a problem. But RAID is a problem. If you go into your BIOS you should be able to disable the RAID controller.

I have 2 SATA hard drives and NO IDE hard drives and ProTools runs fine. Good luck!
