Re: Digimax's?
That's kind of an ambiguous question. "Best sound for your money" leaves a lot of room for interpretation. What is it you're after?
I did a google search on the Digimax LT and it's been discontinued. And you need this in addition to your 002 because......????? |

Re: Digimax's?
All will sound pretty much the same. They all use the Xmax preamps and the 002 can't use the 96K anyway. I still have a mint Firestudio for sale.....

Re: Digimax's?
Sweet!!! lol. Yeah I can't afford much but yeah. I need the digimax to add 8 channels of inputs on my 002 instead of just 4. They are all around the same price but yeah thanks for the input and your time and that tells me what I will go with!!

Re: Digimax's?
Mic choice is a personal thing for sure. What do you hope to record? Certainly at least 1 AKG 414 and a couple of SM-57's are handy in any studio, but there are several other mics that you should consider(depending on what you want to record).

Re: Digimax's?
FWIW I used the Digimax 96 on remote sessions..sounds OK. For about the same money maybe take a look at the Mackie Onyx 800R..sounds a little fatter than the Presonus....
Can't go wrong with the 414's! |

Re: Digimax's?
Wow thanks so much for that info guys!! I will check out the Macki too. Yeah I want to record drums. I figured a couple pencil condensors for room mics, 2 akg C414's for overheads, and I could always use one for vocals as well, the 58's for the toms, and two 57's for top and bottom snare, then another condenser for highhat. That should capture the drums more then efficiently I figure!! What do you guys think?

I realize its been a while and I hate to wake a dead thread but what other mics other then a few SM 57's, I also have a really FAT kick drum mic the AKG 112, I have a good MXL pencil condenser mics. Some decent EV 58 mics. And I was thinking I could get a couple AKG 414's and that should be good. I do also have an MXL V69 condensor. Any other suggestions or that you feel would be MUST HAVES! Thanks to all for your input!!:) |
