PT Hangs on Initializing Databases . . . sometimes . . .

I've got a couple of nagging problems - I'll do separate threads . . .

I've had PT for a while (2yrs)- - running 7.4 since the beginning of the year. When it is up, it works great - I've done several projects for me & other bands. I work through all of the start up issues prior to anyone arriving

When I start PT, I sometimes get
-PT looks like it is starting up
-it flashes the logo & 'Initializing Databases' - - - and hangs

No matter how long I let it sit, it just hangs there. I've tried letting it sit for hours - but, nothing. The only way for me to get out of it is to end the PT session & digisptiservices (through ctl alt delete) or manually restart the PC. When I restart, everything works fine.

Any suggestions would be appretiated!

Please start with the trashing of preference and database files per the info in the General Troubleshooting thread...
