Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration he
hmmm... i thought you might say that. unfortunatley that is not an option, as my non-system drive came from my previous computer, and requires a different style cable to the newer drive.

Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration he
I just fired up PT7cs4 on my brand new machine, all excited to get started again, and I have no audio out and choppy meter animation. The machine was supposed to have been optimized for PT by the manufacturer (a DAW specialty shop).
I've been DAWless for a month and a half after having been robbed and I will be devastated if I have to send this thing back. Please help! Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration here..
Same sob story as always. Constant 9129 errors, but only after the first play. The first time works fine. Then it goes batty, especially when theres more plugins involved. I'm using 6.7 w/ an MBOX. HP laptop. I've had this problem for a year now but dealt with it. Now I am working on an album and it's getting embarassing..... coming to a complete standstill. My PC should be able to handle this, right? Oh yeah, I've done EVERYTHING. Every little tip i've found on here and in the manuals. Well, I only got to page 8 on here before my eyes were bleeding. Diagnostic Mode, Battery thing disabled, network cards disabled, folders deleted. all sorts of things with absolutely NO improvement. HELP!!! I am ready to jump ship!!!

Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration here..
OK. After a little more reading.... Am I understanding correctly that my BRAND NEW 100GB Hard Drive is unacceptable because it is only running at 5400 rp??? BUT that I shouldn't be running PT directly to my hard drive anyway???............ (huff, huff) ok. So what I need to do is get a Firewire adapter (because protools doesn't like USB 2.0, right?) and an external firewire drive running at 7200 rpm, and move all the session and audio files to THAT? Should I be good then???? judging by quick research this is gonna cost me about $250. does that sound right?

Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration he
Greetings all,
First of all thanks for all the information you guys give in these forums. Pro Tools can be a frustraiting at times. Without these forums i would have most likely put my head through the monitor on several occations. ok,,, first of all i had protools 6.4 on a sony with a intel 3.0 with 1 gig of ram and no extra hard drive ran everything on the system 7200rpm drive that came with it and everything ran great up to 12 tracks.which was fine for me.and i didnt disable anything...except for hyperthreading ....im no pro...just do it as a hobby. so i built a new computer that i thought would handle pro tools better. i thought i read up enough to think that a dual core would work better..i have 2 hard drives a 10000 rpm that i use for my system and a 7200 i use just for storage..no programs operate off of it..i have my sessions stored there with the audio files and everything. Well.. i found out 6.4 doesent work well with my dual core so i upgraded to 7.0...and the patch...and i get constant buffer sizer errors..and system held off errors..with only 2 tracks...i cant imagine why this is..i have double the ram...more processing power...ive tried diffrent playback buffer settings...from one processer to two....two seems to work a little better but i still only get 4 tracks and bam...errors out the ying yang..i was hoping one of you gurus could help me out...before i break something of value thanks SiSoftware Sandra System Host Name : CHRIS-8DA5670A3 User : Chris Domain : WORKGROUP Processor Model : 1x AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ Speed : 2.01GHz Model Number : 3800 (estimated) Performance Rating : PR6028 (estimated) Cores per Processor : 2 Unit(s) Threads per Core : 1 Unit(s) Type : Dual-Core Internal Data Cache : 2x 64kB Synchronous, Write-Back, 2-way set, 64 byte line size L2 On-board Cache : 2x 512kB ECC Synchronous, Write-Back, 16-way set, 64 byte line size Mainboard Bus(es) : ISA PCI PCIe USB FireWire/1394 i2c/SMBus MP Support : 2 Processor(s) MP APIC : No System BIOS : Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG Mainboard : http://www.abit.com.tw/ KN8 SLI(NF-CK804) Total Memory : 2GB DDR-SDRAM Chipset 1 Model : Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Athlon 64 / Opteron HyperTransport Technology Configuration Front Side Bus Speed : 2x 1005MHz (2010MHz data rate) Total Memory : 2GB DDR-SDRAM Memory Bus Speed : 2x 200MHz (400MHz data rate) Video System Monitor/Panel : Plug and Play Monitor Adapter : NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT Physical Storage Devices Hard Disk : WDC WD2500KS-00MJB0 (233GB) Hard Disk : WDC WD740GD-00FLC0 (69GB) CD-ROM/DVD : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B (CD 48X Rd, 48X Wr) (DVD 6X Rd, 6X Wr) CD-ROM/DVD : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B (CD 48X Rd, 48X Wr) (DVD 6X Rd, 6X Wr) CD-ROM/DVD : SCSIVAX DVD/CD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device (CD 32X Rd) (DVD 4X Rd) Logical Storage Devices Hard Disk (C:) : 69GB (43GB, 61% Free Space) (NTFS) Bf2 cd 1 (D:) : 700MB (CDFS) swap file (E:) : 4.9GB (876MB, 18% Free Space) (NTFS) Storage (F:) : 228GB (210GB, 92% Free Space) (NTFS) CD-ROM/DVD (G:) : N/A CD-ROM/DVD (H:) : N/A Peripherals USB Controller/Hub : Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller USB Controller/Hub : Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller USB Controller/Hub : USB Root Hub USB Controller/Hub : USB Root Hub USB Controller/Hub : USB Composite Device FireWire/1394 Controller/Hub : Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller Keyboard : Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard Keyboard : HID Keyboard Device Mouse : Logitech-compatible Mouse PS/2 Human Interface : HID-compliant consumer control device Human Interface : HID-compliant game controller Human Interface : USB Human Interface Device Human Interface : USB Human Interface Device Human Interface : USB Human Interface Device MultiMedia Device(s) Device : Realtek AC'97 Audio Printers and Faxes Model : Microsoft Office Document Image Writer Model : HP DeskJet 810C Power Management AC Line Status : On-Line Operating System(s) Windows System : Microsoft Windows XP/2002 Professional (Win32 x86) 5.01.2600 (Service Pack 2) Network Services Adapter : CNet PRO200 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter |
