Mojo outputs black from MXF with Vista

We changed a system from MacPro to PC (i7 custom system by sweetwater), mostly to have room for HD3 and firewire card for Mojo. Sessions that worked fine on the Mac with this same Mojo now playback black, no video. Recording into the Mojo plays out just fine. The original video files were .mxf and part of .aaf files from an avid system. I have tried the ones already in pt sessions and importing again from .aaf, same result. Any ideas?

Do you have Quicktime installed on this machine? If no, please install it, then tell us if the problem goes away.

If that doesn't work, can you tell us the format of the video (compression type, etc)?

Yes QuickTime is installed. We have low res QuickTime versions of these files that play fine as QuickTime video tracks on the computer screen. I will have to confirm the video file details.

Here is the answer from the video people who sent me the files.

"the video was exported as either dv video or as
source compression with the Avid codec."

I know that's not very helpful but that's all they could give me. Again this worked fine with the sme Mojo on a Mac.

Without derailing this thread, I have a question about using the Mojo DNA on your system.

I just picked up a Mojo last week and it appears we have a very similar PC setup. Unfortunately, when I have my Mojo attached to the onboard firewire, I get nothing but -6031 errors when i press play. This happens even in empty sessions (no audio or video).

Have you had success using the Mojo with the onboard firewire? I noticed you have added a firewire card, were you by chance seeing similar problems using the onboard FW?

I appreciate any insight you have to offer, thx!

UPDATE:

I just installed a SIIG PCI-e firewire card and the Mojo is working perfectly. All -6031 errors are gone.

We are running the mojo from the onboard firewire and drives from the card. The mojo can't have anything else on the firewire bus with it.

My Mojo was the only device running on the onboard firewire bus as well. IIRC, you are running a prebuilt system. Any idea exactly what Asus mobo you are using? At this point I am up and running after installing the SIIG firewire card but I'd be really curious to know why the Mojo is working on your onboard Firewire if we happen to have the same mobo.

Digi, any more ideas on this?

The Mojo is holding the last image sent to it, which was a test recording I did into it. If I switch the video track (either Avid or Quicktime set to play firewire out) it reacts to the change and goes to black, but then returns to the still saved image when settet back to NTSC.
