Default Standalone Core Audio Driver for 002r and 10.5.3?

Hello All,

I'm hoping to use a Digi 002r on my 8 core running 10.5.3. I don't plan on using PTLE. I am only going to use Logic 8. I couldn't find a standalone core audio driver on the digi site. So, instead, I installed only the core audio drive that came in the PT LE 7.4.2 package. My first restart crashed the computer (that's besides the point I guess). When I did get the computer started up, the 002r didn't show up in the audio section of my system preferences. I started up Logic and didn't see the 002r as an interface option there either. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I have an 002r and plan to do my upgrade to 10.5.3 and 7.4.2 as soon as I finish a couple of video projects that I am working on. This is on a 2008 Mac Pro. I am also switching from PC to Mac with this upgrade. I have Logic Pro and would like to use that as well as Pro Tools. (Not at the same time - just using them for different things at different times). The thread starter said the 002r did not show up with the standard 7.4.2 installation. The stand-alone download says it is for users that do not install Pro Tools. How do I go about doing this? Thanks for your help.

The standard PT installation includes CoreAudio drivers which enable the hardware to be used with other audio applications like Logic. There was clearly an issue with the OP's system which may well now have been addressed in the final release of 7.4.2.

Hi,

Any luck with that standalone core audio installer? I had the exact same problem. I'm now afraid of installed the standalone, until I know its safe. Curious if you went ahead and tried it out.

Thanks;
j.

Zero luck with the standalone core audio driver

Installed it from the link, restarted. Plugged in my 002 Rack and turned it on. Launched core audio it it saw that my 002r was connected. That part was good. I then quit the Digidesign CoreAudio Manager.

Next I opened my System Preferences and thee 002r didn't show up anywhere. Then I launched Logic and the 002r wasn't available as an interface there either.

I tried trashing my preferences, a few restarts of both the computer and the audio interface, but to no avail. No matter what I do, I can't make the 002r work.

From my experience, I would strongly caution against using the Standalone driver at this point as I have been completely unable to make it work. However, I am open to any and all ideas on how to get it going. If anyone had ANY ideas pleas let me know. Good luck everybody.
