Any NEO error means the DigiBase files are corrupt.. follow the Troubleshooting steps in the sticky thread.

As I keep looking into this I have seen "new" files in my song folders. labeled "GOVMAORIJISK". My first thought was my lacie external hard drive problem. I can create a song and save it to my desktop but once I put it into my lacie drive I'm F%$#@. I also noticed back up files in my song folders now??

What you are seeing are normal cache files normally self deleted when Pro Tools shuts down... but due to a crash were left behind. The backup folder is correct and is there to save your butt.

The remedy for the Neo error as I mentioned before is to follow the steps in the sticky Troubleshooting thread.

alright. It's true I don not know what a sticky trouble shooting thread is or where to find one. I did go into my work space window and found no date indexed on the lacie hard drive. I clicked on the lacie icon and a screen popped up showing the neo access I cleared them from the list. shut off my system then shut the power off to the strip. I let it sit for a few minutes then turned everything back on. I went into protools went to workspace and when I clicked on l the lacie icon all my music files where thier.
I opened some songs put down some guitar tracks closed the session and the neo access pop up screen DID NOT APPEAR. it only took me 5 hours to figure it out. And I'm still sober!!!

Q- what is a sticky troubleshooting thread and where do I get one?

thanks for all the help keeping

matt

At the top of the forum are sticky threads.. they have little pins next to them.. the last one is named "General Troubleshooting ..."
