Pro Tools Automatically Relaunches after Quitting the Program

I have been having an issue lately where ProTools automatically relaunches when I close the program. It will shut down then restart.

Does anyone have a solution?

I am hoping there's a better answer then delete the preferences and then manually go rebuild them again.

Let me know what you all have.

Amazing how you know what you don't want to try to see if it helps and yet that very thing can actually solve this problem, and has been reported as doing so in the past on DUC and elsewhere (so you could have just you know used Google and found that). And trashing prefs is also the first step of standard troubleshooting you should do, just do it without thinking or without wasting time coming here asking for help you don't want to listen to.

And why would you assume you need to rebuild preferences? Just move the pref files. Test, if it works then you can set stuff up again.. but you have no choice the files were corrupted. And if not you just put the original files back.

And you are running Windows but where is any of the other expected information about your setup. Try reading "Help us Help You" up the top of every DUC web page.

And if trashing prefs does not fix it folks have posted other things to try that worked for them. The Pro Tools log file and Windows event log might also provide clues.
