PT 12.8 Takes FOREVER to load now

Since I updated to 12.8 (Non-hd), I've noticed that every time I open PT, it hangs up on the loading screen before trying to load any plugins. I've tried uninstall, reinstalling, clean uninstalling, reinstalling, nothing seems to help this. It usually takes about a solid 2 minutes or more to begin loading the plugins.
This can be super frustrating throughout a workday as I finding myself constantly in this scenario and continually having to Force Quit until the program loads correctly.
How can I remedy this issue? Anyone having a similar problem??

I am also on MacOS 10.12.5.

Did you do this install on a clean OS install? How much ram do you have? We have a similar MBP and I don't experience this. Try moving all plugins to the unused folder and test it. Then add them back one at a time until it hangs.

I did a clean OS install a couple months back then upgraded to 10.12.5 once certified with PT and did the upgrade to 12.8 then. That's when it began the issue. I'll try the plugin reinstall though. Thank you for your suggestion!

Maybe before doing that, try trashing the prefs if you haven't already. But I'm guessing that either a plugin is giving you grief or something got messed up during your OS upgrade.

I have a similar scenario but only when I open it for the first time after starting up my Mac. After that if I quit PT and open again it does not take long at all.

First make sure a you do not have antivirus crapware installed/enabled.

Trash prefs, Start Pro Tools let it finish, do not force quit. Then quit normally. Now does it start up normally?

I have posted elsewhere that this seems to be Workspace related. Trash Workspace files and startup is as it should be. However rebuild Workspace and the slow startup happens again. BAD!!

Just a thought people.
When someone posts about a problem or issue without having their complete system info showing. (i.e easiest way is add it to your sig. line)

Then trying to offer any help is often the audio tech equivalent of herding cats.

I thought the same thing at first; but being on the mobile app Tapatalk, it doesn't show sigs. So, I clicked on the OP's name and it comes up in his/her profile. Hence, I was able to offer somewhat of a troubleshooting technique since we have similar rigs.

PS, my info is in my sig; but as you can see it doesn't show up because I'm not posting from a computer. :P
