I just solved my slow mac issue tho. was a VST plugin I was using inside the RX editor.. luckily just closing the plug in sorts it, I do heaps and heaps of dialog editing for VOD stuff as well as foley

tempted to put it off for a bit, altho have to say its been a fantastic year with the shear volume of projects I've done...
Me too! There are certain issues I have had with certain versions of RX, but I use a lot of things. Make sure to check the Izotope stuff that is actually updated for current OS updates. Had issues with older versions for sure, so I uninstalled the older stuff. No need for it anyway.

Copy That! I was sort of forced into it as my old Mac Pro (Late 2013) would only support Monterey, so that was that. I was fine on it, BUT now that my ATMOS room and all the other advantages this new technology are in place, I am very pleased with everything. I was super behind on a lot of efficiency from what I had. I did have it shipped with Monterey so it was just under the wire with that OS and was able to stay there for now with DADMAN software and the MTRX and Dolby stuff.

Version numbering has changed. Previously we had 10.major.minor and on top of that security patches. Since going to Apple Silicon, dropping OSX moniker ("ten"), it has been just major.minor.patch.

So with that said 12.6.2 is just as compatible as 12.6.0 (usually referred to 12.6 for simplicity).

Cool Nice Tip!

I upgraded my system to monterey 12.6.2, and when I use the SoundID reference plugin, the CPU goes to 100% and gives error 6101......impossible to use. Before it worked fine.
I use Mac Studio
