Default Authorization code problem!

Hi!
I bought Pro Tools 7.3 in Digistore (download), some months ago.
Now I want to install 7.4.2, which should be free right? Since I have 7.3.
The thing is, I have one authorization code for 7.3 (on My Digi), but that's not the right authorization code for 7.4.2.

Thank you for your help.

No, 7.4.x is a paid upgrade. $50 from LE 7.3.

Ah, bummer..

That means that my 7.0 to 7.3 upgrade was a total waste, since I couldn't use 7.3 on my MacBook with Leopard.

So the only was to solve this, is to buy another upgrade? =(

Basically, yes.

7.4.2 is the first LE release to officially work on Leopard.

If you bought a 7.3 update for a Leopard system, then yes I'd chalk that up to a total waste... of course, your 7.0 wouldn't have done you any good on Leopard, either.

Welcome to the boards... My advice for you in the future is to always check Digi's compatibility documents first, then head to the DUC to see how the new releases are faring "in the wild" for people with similar system configurations.

That depends on when you bought the 7.3 upgrade. Click on the "Compatibility & Upgrades" link at the top of the DUC, then on "Pro Tools LE for Mac OS X Compatibility Grid & Upgrade Information"

Information on upgrades and free updates is on the lower part of that page, with details under "Recent Purchases" that you are looking for:
Quote:
If you’ve purchased and registered a Pro Tools LE 7.3 software upgrade, Pro Tools LE system (003 Family, Mbox 2 Family), or Pro Tools LE hardware exchange from Digidesign or an authorized Digidesign dealer on or after October 1st 2007, you are eligible to receive a free upgrade to Pro Tools LE 7.4 software...

I bought an upgrade from 7.0 to 7.3 on the internet (digistore), in June.

And I can't register my Mbox2 once again, cause I already registed it when I got it (two years ago!).

Since I'm only a 7.3 owner, there is nothing I can do to upgrade it for free right?

Hey, me again.. Sorry for whining so much, but it is just one thing I don't get. (Edit: Maybe two things )

On the "Le 7.4 No Cost Upgrade" page, it says

"If you’ve purchased and registered a Pro Tools LE 7.3 software upgrade, Pro Tools LE system (003 Family, (....) on or after October 1st 2007, you are eligible to receive a free upgrade to Pro Tools LE 7.4 software."

Since I bought 7.0 to 7.3 upgrade two months ago, I should be able to get a free update.

And now to the problem: On the same page I just talked about, it says:

"If you purchased and registered a new (.....) Mbox Pro Tools LE hardware system, or a Pro Tools LE 7 Software Upgrade on or after October 1, 2007, you are eligible for a free Pro Tools LE 7.4 upgrade"

Okey, so now I guess I have to register? But how in hell am I supposed to register a 7.3 upgrade?

I don't get the Activation and Download Instructions either!
You're supposed to type your 7.4 activation code, but since I DON'T have 7.4 I DON'T have a 7.4 Activation code..

Maybe I'm a little slow today, but right now I don't get anything :P

Please help!

I've been investigating this and I'm a little confused.

We show you purchased and registered an Mbox 2 in December, 2006. You were sent a free amnesty update email for 7.3 for that purchase.

We then see a discount purchase of a 7.3 to 7.4 upgrade from the Digistore on May 31st of this year.

This all looks correct. You should have the 7.4 from your recent purchase and you got the discounted upgrade to 7.4 because you had the previous 7.3 code.

Is there something we're missing here?

He probably needs to do a clean UN-install before installing the newer version.
