Default MBox 3 Mini Inputs

First things first, I hope I am posting this in the proper section. I have an MBox Mini 3 and I am a little confused on the way the inputs are setup. Input2 allows you to select Line/Di for the 1/4th. Input1 only allows DI for the 1/4th and Line/Mic for the XLR. My question is, is the DI on input 1 still a line input? When tracking in stereo(one Line & one DI, using both 1/4th), the signal are even. But when doing 1/4th Line for input 2 and xlr Line for input 1, one signal is stronger than the other. So all in all, my question is, is the 1/4th(selected as DI) on input 1, still a Line input? Thank you so much guys.

Hey guys, I'm sorry to bump this but would like to get a response before I go ahead and sell my Motu Ultralite then purchase a mixer and make sure I could track out 2 1/4ths in line input. Thank you.

You need to choose an interface that covers your needs. The Mini is really a 2 input device, but NOT really a stereo device. Sounds like you really require something that can do 2 matched inputs(either LINE, DI or mic). The Motu stuff seems very good, as does the larger Mbox Gen 3 options. Personally, I prefer firewire interfaces for the lower tracking latency. Maybe some others have experience with some of the multitude of options(assuming you have PT9. If you are running 8.x, then you are stuck with Avid hardware only).

Ah that's what I figured since it's the Mini series. I guess I'll just hold on to the Motu Ultralite and upgrade my LE to use it with PT. Thanks a lot for clearing this up!
